If you're planning a home near the water, this issue is for you. Salt, sun, and wind are hard on a house, and the right choices early on keep it looking beautiful for years. Here are three things we're thinking about this month.

Design Tip: Ask for the wind and impact ratings in writing

If you're building near the coast, ask every window and door vendor for the certified wind and impact ratings in writing. A good vendor will hand them over without a fuss. Then keep those papers in one place, so you never have to hunt for them later. It is a small step that gives you real peace of mind.

Trend to Watch: Coastal homes are choosing materials that age well

More and more of our coastal clients ask for stone, bronze, and properly sealed wood. They look rich on day one, and they hold up to salt air and humidity far better than finishes that fade by year two. Choosing the right material up front can save you a full re-finish down the road. It is one of the first conversations we have on every coastal project.

Fave Find: Tuuci for the outdoor spaces

When a client wants to live outdoors, we reach for Tuuci. We have a trade account with them, and we like how their pieces suit a relaxed, resort-style patio or terrace. If your plans include a shaded lounge or a poolside seating area, ask us about it. We can source it through the trade and take care of the details for you.

That's what is on our minds this month. Choose well, get it in writing, and let your home be easy to love. We'll be back in your inbox in two weeks.

We built this business so you never have to choose between good taste and a good night's sleep during a project. If any of this is on your mind, reply to this email or reach out through the website, and let's talk about your project.

Warmly,

Rhonda
